Usually companies this large treat their engineers like this anyway. If you are being mistreated, just quit. That's what I do. I dont tolerate bullshit from anyone. As engineers, we are valuable assets to any company. There are many other companies that will appreciate you.

Also, Im sure Amazon's culture is high-stress due to unrealistic demands from customers, stakeholders and upper-management.
